Host of the Star Wars Interactive Zone, Indooroopilly Shopping Centre approached Prendi with the request of integrating digital interactivity into the event.
The aim was to engage and entertain shoppers, while connecting with them via social media.
The solution; a Star Wars Costume Competition digital kiosk.
Reusing their existing screens, Prendi created a custom Augmented Reality configurator. The configurator allows users to snap a shot of themselves in their favourite Star Wars costume and upload it to the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre Facebook page, to go in the draw to win a Star Wars Limited Edition PlayStation 4 pack and a $500 Indooroopilly Shopping Centre gift card.
How it works; Star Wars fans simply stand in front of the screen and sensors detect the position of the user’s body, allowing them to control the experience with hand motions.
When ready, the user can select to take the photo and strike a pose while it counts down. The photo is then uploaded to the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre Facebook page, where users can like and share it on their social networks.
Other entertainment in the Star Wars Interactive Zone includes the chance to face off against a real Jedi master, battle the asteroid obstacle course and bring Star Wars characters to life in the Disney Infinity multiplayer tech hub.
